It is built in the style of medieval norse storehouse construction. Of course, the Island rarely gets snow - let alone over 4 feet of it - so the area under the house is used as shade for the animals rather than as freezer space. The interior is cozy and comfortable. The downstairs includes a kitchen, a dining area and a large open area with heavy wood furniture with thick comfy cushions and thick lambskin rugs tossed about. It also has a huge fireplace. Upstairs is an oversized four poster king bed with heavy deep purple velvet curtains to keep that pesky sun away from my beloved vampires, Angel and Spike.
